Astronomy Photographer of the year 2016

Ainsley was lucky enough to have his image 'Binary Haze' shortlisted for the 2016 astronomy photographer of the year. On 15th September he attended the awards ceremony at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, and found out that he had won his entered category 'skyscapes'. There were 8 main categories with 4500 entrants from across the globe, the overall winner being chosen from these. His image will appear on display at the Royal Observatory until later next year.
