New for 2018, Ainsley is offering 1 to 1 night photography workshops on the Isle of Wight. These are available upon request by filling out the required form on the Night Photography workshop page in the main menu.

Outdoor Photographer of the year 2017

Ainsley found out recently that he had been shortlisted for Outdoor Photographer of the year 2017 with an image he took in 2013. This is the first time he has entered the competition so was very pleased to make it this far.

Astronomy Photographer of the year 2017

Ainsley was shortlisted again in the 2017 competition with these two images which both feature in the yearly book. There were many outstanding images in this years competition and it is well worth a visit to the Royal Observatory in London to see all of the winning and shortlisted images in the free exhibition. Ainsley was fortunate to have a short video produced about his category winning image Binary haze in the 2016 Astronomy Photographer of the year competition.

Astronomy Photographer of the year 2016
18th September 2016
Ainsley was lucky enough to have his image 'Binary Haze' shortlisted for the 2016 astronomy photographer of the year. On 15th September he attended the awards ceremony at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, and found out that he had won his entered category 'skyscapes'. There were 8 main categories with 4500 entrants from across the globe, the overall winner being chosen from these. His image will appear on display at the Royal Observatory until later next year.
